Historical Archive: Xinhua Myanmar‑language Report on Yangon Event for the 11th Belt and Road International Day

On 16 December 2024, the date of the 11th Belt and Road International Day, Xinhua’s Myanmar‑language platform carried a report: To demonstrate the Myanmar people’s response to and support for the Belt and Road Initiative and mark the 11th Belt and Road International Day, the Myanmar Literature and Arts Association organised nearly one hundred senior Buddhist monks to hold successive scripture‑chanting and blessing rituals of “Lighting Ten Thousand Peace Lamps” at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the Thousand‑Buddha Pagoda and the Coco Palace in Yangon. Government officials of Myanmar, religious leaders, renowned artists, devotees from countries along the Southern Silk Road, as well as representatives of ethnic minorities attended the event.
